A Little Bit About Me
Just turned 45 this week, and if I had a pound for every time someone said, “We just want to see you settle down with someone who makes you happy,” I’d probably be on a beach somewhere right now.
Here’s the thing, I am happy. Happier than I’ve ever been, actually. I’ve got a career I love, a son I absolutely adore, and friends and family who make life feel full. I was married for nearly 20 years, had one relationship since, and have been single for the past three. And it’s been good, really good.
So when people say I need someone to be happy, it can feel a bit... off. That said, I do want to share my time with someone, someone to cook with, travel with, learn with, and maybe even grow old with. So here I am, (somewhat reluctantly!) giving this a go on SingleMuslims.com. I say reluctantly because I’ve always imagined meeting someone in a more organic way, but I keep hearing success stories, so let’s see what happens.
One last thing: my son is part of the LGBTQ+ community, and he’s my world. If that’s something you’re not okay with, then I’m not the person for you, and that’s totally fine.
